A Story From

Individuals & families

From factory managers and engineers to communications professionals and technology experts, meet Nestlé women sharing their experiences, insights, and advice.

It's rare that colleagues from different parts of the world in a business of over 275,000 can circle up to share their stories. This March, some of our most experienced leaders did just that! Dive into thoughts from their incredibly moving roundtable conversation, as well as thoughts from colleagues on topics that working women across the globe can relate to.

Authenticity

A strong sense of self needs to be supported by safe and inclusive spaces that enable us to thrive. This starts with leaders who walk the talk and grow with organizational efforts. That's why we implement policies, guidelines, and reporting and feedback systems to back our culture of respect and equity.

"I like to listen to others' opinions and pains before making my own judgement. I believe people get more engaged if they feel they participated in the decision process."

- Aline Mór Head of Regional R&D, Chile

Taking risks

When we look back on our careers, the moments that matter are rarely the ones where we stuck with what was familiar. Taking risks, owning an opinion, or jumping at an opportunity can not only lead to great rewards, but also lessons that last a lifetime.

"Let your work speak, but do not forget to speak up for yourself."

- Aatekah Mir-Khan Senior Manager Public Affairs and Sustainability, Pakistan

Allyship and mentorship

We are all standing on the shoulders of those who came before us. Upholding the insights gained from our mentors, while sharing those we've unlearned along the way, paves the path for young women beginning their professional journeys.

"[I advise] each woman who rises to then work hard to mentor and develop the next generation of women in the field."

- Egbeogu Chinyere Joy Regional Application Group Manager Beverages, Nigeria

Scaling equity

In addition to the continued efforts of leaders and colleagues to support growth, the Nestlé Gender Balance Acceleration Plan strengthens our existing commitment to enhance gender balance in our workforces. It includes:

  • Full implementation of our gender-neutral paid parental leave program and flexible work policies in all Nestlé operating companies
  • Enhancing mentoring and sponsorship programs to prepare high-potential women for senior executive positions
  • Hiring and promoting more women in senior executive positions
  • Continuing our efforts to champion equal pay and eliminate conditions that create gender pay gaps

"My goal is to pay it forward for the next generation behind me; to create strong female leaders who can pay it forward for my kids."

- Tracey Halama CEO, Vital Proteins, USA
